The reason I use a cover crop roller is that I want to build healthy soil.  Second, I want to save money on herbicide, fertilizer, and fuel.  

 

Less tillage and more plant diversity creates better soil.  The learning curve from conventional tillage to this approach has its challenges, and It doesn't happen over night, but with time, your soil will look better, smell better and produce better.

 

With a farm of my own in Nashville, I have used cover crops to build better soil, grow better crops and it has resulted in healthy wildlife.  If you are interested in healthy soil, healthy animals and healthy people try this small piece of the puzzle.
